Even the seemingly untouchable company of Apple can be harmed by false rumors such as the ones that were spread regarding Apple CEO Steve Jobs. A large article claiming that the CEO suffered from a heart attack was spread all over the Web, and as a result shares in Apple stocks dropped drastically. They recovered upon discovering the article to be false; however, the idea that such a rumor can cause such a serious reaction is quite scary.
