The MP3 player is not going anywhere just yet, however I believe it is on its way out. We were wowed by the abilities of an MP3 player when they first came out and they became more and more advanced as time went by. However, now with the smart phone and the iPhone out, there really is not going to be much of a need for an MP3 player anymore. It is one device that can do many things, including play music. Why walk around with more than one device when you can walk around with one slim one such as the iPhone?
