The World’s Fastest Elevator

The installation of the world’s fastest passenger elevator in the world’s tallest building is just but fitting. The elevator runs at top speed of 1010 meters per minute when ascending and 600 meters per minute when descending. This breakthrough in elevator technology is very important because it allows building designers to create high-rise buildings that can actually be used.

This elevator that can be found at Taipei 101 offers at least three new technologies namely: the pressure control system, a control system that cancels vibrations and the reduction of the whistling noise produced by a car running at a high speed inside a narrow hoist-way. It can move up to 24 passengers at a time and its featured new technology did away with the problem of ear popping.
