Cell phones are much more than meets the eye. To the average consumer, a cell phone is a piece of hardware that makes calls, takes pictures, plays songs, and even provides GPS services. The truth is that those cell phones do not do any of those things. The software that is installed on the cell phone does those things. While we are out buying phones, there is a behind the scenes mobile operating system war going on. This war is between names like Symbian, Sonny Ericsson, Samsung, and lately, Google. A cell phone without the operating system is a piece of plastic that can’t do very much at all. Remember that next time you are out buying a phone.
