LCDs and plasma TVs are getting bigger and better. It can be very hard to ignore the super-sizing of flat panel screens. The 50-inch and 60-inch screens have become the main attractions in many stores. Although 42-inch screens are still going strong, 50 is fast becoming the new 40.

The higher scoring models of both LCDs and plasma TVs display excellent picture quality with high definition programming. The ability of some plasma sets to reproduce the finest detail combined with their rich, vibrant colors and deep black lend an image that is almost three-dimensional. One good thing about it is that prices continue to fall while size and picture quality continue to rise.
