Your Own “Mist” Experience

Even if you aren’t a bookworm you have most definitely heard of the king horror, otherwise known as Stephen King, since his best selling books have become movie smashes. From Misery to The Green Mile, Stephen King has succeeded and continues to succeed in bringing goose bumps to our skin and getting us to jump out of our chairs in fear. His latest hit, The Mist, will be out in theaters soon.

The Mist by Stephen King tells the story of a man and his son, who find themselves trapped in a supermarket filled with people, due to an unknown threatening force outside. They have no idea what is outside because there is a thick mist that surrounds the store, blocking their view of what is beyond the mist. All they know is that whatever it is that is out there is dangerous and is out to get them. As the movie progresses and the plot starts to thicken, the captives of the “mist” begin to panic and they express their fear in different ways.

Traumatic situations tend to bring out one’s true persona, for better or for worse. In a situation where one is being held up in a store, some tend to become overly caring and supportive while others allow their true selfish selves to come out. In a case where one faces these extreme personas, one does what needs to be done to protect themselves.
