The majority of global mobile TV viewership can be found in only two countries namely Japan and South Korea. Largely due to the integration of TV reception capabilities into mobile phones, mobile TV has managed to get the attention of people who cannot do without their mobile phones. As of now, regular mobile networks will still be the dominant carrier for mobile video at least for another two more years.
The uptake of mobile TV all over the world is rather slow mainly because of the expense. Establishing the needed infrastructure for dedicated mobile networks will entail significant costs thereby holding back large-scale launches for a few more years.
