The Microsoft Conspiracy Theory

We’ve all heard the joke that Bill Gates is the Anti-Christ—a joke spread, no doubt, by loyal Mac Users or disgruntled PC users who have had Windows crash on them one two many times.

The roots of the joke lie in his name. If you apply the ASCII values to the name Bill Gates, the numbers add up to 666 (B 66, I 73, L 76, L 76, G 71, A 65,T 84,E 69, S 83, I 1, I 1, I 1). Doesn’t help that MS DOS 6.31 also adds up to 666, as well as Windows 95.

This can prove either one of two things. Bill Gates has a 666 hidden on the nape of his neck, or there are some very bored people who have nothing better to do than play with ASCII code.
