In the past several years the top alternative browsers have gained such popularity that they have eaten up a significant chunk of Internet Explorer’s market share. The top three alternative browsers, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Safari, can no longer be belittled. In the Mac world Safari reigns supreme and IS the browser.

On the other hand, Mozilla Firefox leads the three in eating up IE’s market share. Opera, though the oldest doesn’t lag behind in innovation and continues to have a loyal following and still has a significant presence. These three browsers are by no means the only alternatives to IE with numerous other browsers for Windows, Mac, Linux and other operating systems.
