I got back from Amsterdam a few weeks ago after visiting a friend there. I have never seen him in a better mood, he claimed the warm weather brings it out of him after suffering from the long winter months. Besides being one of the nicest cities I’ve been to with some great museums including the Van Gogh and the Rembrandt museums, it’s just a fun city to walk around in.

Actually, I didn’t do much walking. Rather, my friend got me a bike and took me around the city as apparently most locals do. It turns out that bikes are actually more popular than cars in Amsterdam and they have right of way in almost every situation making them very convenient too.

I stayed at a great hotel while there and it was a really nice experience. I especially liked the fact that although I booked online at eurobookings.com, I was able to pay only at checkout like I’m used to from when I booked through my travel agent. The site has some great deals on budget hotels in Amsterdam and I hope to return to them for my next trips.
